COVID-19: No confirmed cases in Zimbabwe to date

Until now, COVID-19 did not affect Zimbabwe. All suspected cases turned out to be negative, the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health and Child Care reported. Our medical staff at Newlands Clinic is closely monitoring the situation and took precautionary measures.

We fall back on the scientific knowledge of our medical doctors while dealing with the virus. Our clinical staff got trained and sensitized. Hygienic dispensers were placed all around the clinic. We are sticking to the essential protectives measures stated by WHO to protect others and ourselves. Moreover, there are prevention measures set in the reception area and information videos screened. Our doctors worked out a standard operating procedure for suspected COVID-19 infection. Our medical staff knows how to deal with patients having symptoms such as coughing or throat irritations.

The Zimbabwean Government reinforced entering regulations on border crossings. People who visited a country hit by COVID-19 got asked to stay in quarantine for 21 days. Our staff is currently not traveling between Zimbabwe and Switzerland to reduce the risk.

We are monitoring the situation closely and implementing prevention measures if needed. The health of our staff and patients is our top priority.
